Tuft a Mini Rug with Alice Liptrot

Come and learn the basic techniques of using a tufting gun to create a one-off piece of art for your floor or walls.

This workshop is perfect for beginners looking to try something new in a relaxed and welcoming environment. 

Come and let your creativity flow and explore the world of tufting!

About the event

• Tufting techniques: Learn the essentials of threading the gun and moving it around the fabric to craft your 40cm x 40cm, cut-pile (fluffy) design
• Hands-on creation: 2-1 tuition to enable you to dive into the creative process.
• Get planning your piece so you’re ready to get cracking on arrival!

Materials provided:

• All materials provided
• Tufting gun
• British wool to tuft with
• Tufting cloth

Your finished piece:

• Once complete, the rugs will head back to the studio where Alice will add the finishing touches such as securing the back, adding a rug backing, shearing the yarn. With added choice of sculpting any curves to ensure your rug is finished to perfection! (Please give 1 week for finishing, you will receive an email when your piece is ready for collection from Workshop 29)
