This sweet embroidered character skirt looks to have been a home-sewn garment. The stunning embroidery and appliqué on simple calico depicts a range of characters and scenes: boats, palm trees, people, insects, birds and huts give this jolly skirt its appeal.
The appliquéd people appear as if they can be removed for washing as they have poppers but have been tacked on at the bottom at some point. However, they are easily removed and re-attached.
Sizing:
This skirt is small at the waist. Model is a size 8 and it fits her well.
Condition: There is one small hole and a few marks here and there but nothing to detract from the beauty of this piece.
