Stepping Out From Behind the Camera
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know I’m much happier behind the camera — capturing the pieces, the space, and everything that comes through the shop. But lately, I’ve been thinking about how important it is to show up — not just the shop, but the person behind it.
Truthfully, being in front of the camera isn’t where I’m comfortable. I didn’t open a shop to become the face of anything. I did it because I love the sourcing, the stories, and seeing beautiful things find their way into the right hands.
That said, I know how important it is — especially in the world of small, independent shops — to see who’s actually behind it all. So, I’ve set myself a quiet challenge: to appear once a week. Not talking. Not performing. Just showing up — maybe in a photo, maybe just sharing a moment from the shop floor. A little reminder that there’s a real person behind the scenes, doing all the bits that don’t always make it onto Instagram.
Why does anyone care? Maybe you don’t! But if you do — if it helps make this space feel a little more personal, a little more connected — then it’s worth it.
Thanks, as always, for being here.
