Introduction to Foliage Based Design with La Famille

Foliage based design is one of the mainstays for the professional contemporary florist in terms of approaching their design. 

Foraging for the raw materials lends itself to a more natural feel than using cultivated stems;  this practice trains the florist in the art of ‘looking deeper’, questioning how to achieve the overall shape, feel and mood of their design. 

During this on-line introductory taster session with Paul Malget from La Famille advice will be given on which materials to seek out, discussions had about the nature of various plant material and where you might consider using them.

He'll tackle the cutting, conditioning and methods used for securing the materials.

This will be a live Q & A zoom session with a demonstration on how to approach and prepare for an informal 'foam free’  design using only found materials.

Paul will guide you through the preparation and basic fundamentals of floral design, this should give good insight and help with arranging at home and who knows you may have what you need right in your back garden already! 

The aim of this introductory demonstration is as a taster for future workshops where attendees will construct a variety of designs using a wide range of materials and techniques.
