Slab Building Flower Bricks with Rosa Bond
Flower bricks are a wonderful way to display flowers. Unlike most vases they are low and rectangular (brick shaped!) with multiple holes cut into the top. They make flower
arranging easy and are perfect for showing off smaller flowers from the garden.
Flower bricks are also one of my favourite things to make and in this workshop you will
create your own flower brick using the slab building technique. Slab building is when we
use rolled out sheets of clay to build with. I will demonstrate basic principles and steps to success for working with slab. We will also be creating and using simple templates and thinking about surface texture.
Your finished flower brick will then be glazed and fired and returned to Workshop number 29 for collection. (Please allow 3 weeks for this to happen).
All materials and firings are included in the price.
Please bring an apron or wear old clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting marked.
