Observational Layered Drawing Class with Rob McDonald

The workshop will develop your observational drawing and painting skills, working through a series of experimental still life exercises by using wide variety of drawing tools and media.

We will explore mark making whilst building your confidence and your understanding of what each drawing tool / media can express in creating grounds to work from.
This workshop will concentrate on shape, form, tone to expressive linear line, building layered compositions reflective of the space.

The workshop will help you develop how you see and interpret the surroundings, that of the theatrical interior of Workshop 29, thejuxtaposing of the objects and ephemera to the lighting.

All materials will be supplied but please bring an apron as we will be using ink, oil pastels and charcoal.

All levels welcome, including beginners.

The workshop will be delivered by Rob McDonald, a multi-disciplined artist/ designer who has taught for over 25 years on a wide spectrum of courses within H.E institutions nationally. He has delivered workshops at the Royal Academy and Turner
Contemporary and is currently a senior Lecturer at UCA Canterbury.
